Conditions of Warranty from Spillard Safety Systems Limited

Warranty Information

• All products supplied by Spillard Safety Systems carry a defective components and workmanship ‘return to base’ warranty.
• All warranty is effective from the date of supply or fitting.
• The warranty does not apply to cables unless defective workmanship is proven.
• Faults arising as a result of incorrect fitting by non-Spillard fitters will not be covered.
• Accidental or malicious damage is not covered under warranty.
• Normal wear and tear is not covered by warranty.
• Warranty does not apply where the parts have been used in a way other than intended.
• The opening of electronic components, other than beacons and Flight Systems Engine Savers, will invalidate warranty.
• Removal of any keypad cover fitted to monitors will invalidate warranty.
• Cables, Fuses, Bulbs, Connectors consumables and/ or ancillary components are not covered by warranty.
• Warranty is given at the discretion of Spillard Safety Systems.
• Spillard Safety Systems Ltd shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred in the uplift or for labour to replace any failed components or consequential losses associated with the failed parts.

Return to Base (RTB) Warranty

1. A customer reports a fault to the Service Department.
2. A diagnosis of the fault will be made.
3. The customer is informed that the replacement part(s) will be despatched for next working day a.m. delivery.
4. Items are despatched from Spillard Safety Systems*. An order number may be requested.
5. Faulty and/or unused items must then be returned to Spillard Safety Systems within 14 days otherwise they will be invoiced at full value. Collection may be made by Spillard Safety Systems from a designated holding area by prior arrangement.
6. The customer is responsible for the fitting of the replacement parts and the return/availability of the faulty / unused items.
7. Where a full system is replaced, all faulty components shall be returned/made available with the reason as to why full replacement was necessary clearly stated on the accompanying paperwork.
8. Spillard Safety Systems reserves the right to charge for returned parts where no fault is found. In this instance the parts would be returned to the customer.

Should the customer request on-site service this will be charged at £35 per hour including travelling Monday to Friday 8am~6pm. Work outside these hours will be done only by prior agreement and at a cost of £45 per hour.

*Return to Base Warranty Delivery Information

All items sold by Spillard Safety Systems that require replacement parts sending to the customer are despatched with the intention that the item will be with the customer before 12pm on the next working day. Couriers used are typically TNT and Royal Mail.

However, due to the nature of the courier / postal service, Spillard Safety Systems cannot be held responsible for items that may be delayed in transit.

Should a customer require any further delivery options – i.e., guaranteed next day, ‘before 9 am’ or ‘Saturday delivery’ these are available at an extra charge.

Enhanced Warranty

In the event of a fault with a product covered by the ‘enhanced warranty’, procedures as for the RTB warranty should be followed.

However, in the event of an exchange unit not rectifying the fault and/or the customer insisting on on-site service the following procedure will be used.

a. If on-site service is required within 96 hours of the fault being reported, Spillard Safety Systems reserves the right to charge labour at £35.00 per hour including travelling.
b. If on-site service is carried out after 96 hours of the fault being reported, no charge will be made.

On-Site Warranty

In the event of a fault with a product covered by On-Site warranty Spillard Safety Systems will aim to attend site within 72 hours of a reported fault.

Exceptions to the Enhanced and On-Site Warranty

Please note that only complete systems – e.g. camera, monitor, distribution box, cable – originally fitted by SSS or a fitter approved by SSS have the ‘enhanced’ or ‘on-site’ warranty option.

Where a system has been fitted by anyone other than those mentioned above and on-site service is requested SSS reserves the right to charge labour costs at the applicable rate.

Should an individual item – for example, a camera – be fitted to a machine where the existing system is out of warranty the replacement item carries a twelve month return to base warranty, not ‘enhanced’ or ‘on-site’ warranty.

‘Enhanced’ and ‘on-site’ warranty covers mainland UK only.

Information for Customers Requiring On-Site Service

Spillard Safety Systems must be made aware of any induction courses / special site requirements before the arrival of the engineer.

Attendance on site to work is subject to our fitters having safe access to the machine. The supply of necessary equipment required to allow safe access to the machine (scaffolding, ‘cherry-pickers’, ladders, harnesses, etc) is the responsibility of the site being visited not of Spillard Safety Systems. Where the necessary equipment is not made available Spillard Safety Systems will not attend the machine and a charge may be made to cover travel costs & time on site.

If access to a machine is not granted within 15 minutes of arrival, Spillard Safety Systems reserve the right to reschedule the call. If a call is re-scheduled a charge will be made for time lost.

It is expected that machines will be made available to engineers from Monday to Friday 8am ~ 6pm. For weekend work a £45 per hour charge including travelling is mandatory.

If any camera system component (i.e., camera, monitor or distribution box) is changed by the customer, SSS must be informed of the change, quoting machine serial number, replacement component serial number and the date of replacement. Failure to inform SSS of any changes may invalidate any remaining warranty.

All seat belts supplied by Spillard Safety Systems are covered by a six month ‘RTB’ limited warranty.

WARNING

All Round Alert Safety Lighting

ARA safety lighting, excluding SP497 and SP498 LED lights, are covered by a 12 month RTB warranty.

SP497 and SP498 LED lights are covered by a 3 year RTB warranty.

ARA Flash Tubes and Bulbs are not covered by warranty

Preco Safety Lighting and Reverse Alarms

Preco reverse alarms and safety lighting are covered by a two year ‘RTB’ warranty.
This warranty does not cover the flash tube / bulb. (See below)

Preco Flash Tubes and Bulbs

Preco flash tubes are covered by a six month warranty.
This warranty is applicable to all units sold either individually or as part of a light.

BBS Reverse Alarms

BBS reverse alarms are covered by a two year RTB warranty.

All Round Alert Safety Whips

ARA safety whips are covered by a 12 month RTB warranty.

Flight Systems engine management systems are covered by a 12 month RTB warranty.

ON HIGHWAY HEALTH AND SAFETY PACKAGE

All items within the package are covered by a 12 month on-site warranty. Items covered by warranty include: ‘Seat belt not engaged’ audible warning ‘Handbrake not applied’ audible warning Reverse alarm Reversing camera system Near side front parking sensors Rear proximity sensors

Spillard Safety Systems endeavours not to charge for warranty labour wherever possible.
